Let's face it, toys get around. Every day is a journey that takes toys from one little chubby hand to the other by way of the floor, a slobbery mouth and the back seat of the car. Regular cleaning and sanitizing helps remove the dirt, bacteria and other germs toys can pick up along the way.
![]() Choose toys that are washableplastic toys are much easier to keep clean. Try avoiding toys that are porous, stuffed or generally difficult to clean. Even bath toys with holes should be avoided as they are likely candidates for
mold growth.
Sanitize germs awayto sanitize, spray hard plastic toys with Clorox® Anywhere Hard Surface spray. and wipe with a clean cloth*. It’s a good idea to sanitize after playdates, if your child has been sick and at the end of each day during cold and flu season.
Scrub toys weeklyif this feels like too much try once every other week. Remember, many toys can go in the dishwasher. Or wash them with soap and water by hand if you don’t want to put them in the dishwasher (some materials run the risk of melting in a dishwasher cycle – see instructions).
Freeze out dust mitesplace stuffed toys in the freezer for at least a few hours. You can do this while your child is sleeping or playing at a friend's house. |
